Education and Reality

Tonight well, I'll be studying my two major subjects Software Metrics and Concepts of Operating System. We will be having our Preliminary exam for Metrics tomorrow and a quiz of Chapter 4 for OS.

I must be motivated for tonight. LOLz. I really need to get this especially Metrics since tomorrow would be the first of the three major exams. Maybe I can't visit my blogger friends for tonight but don't worry, I'll still turn on my computer and refresh my page so I would still be able to get your messages or should I say, IMPORTANT messages straight from my Chatbox (^_^).

This is a life of a student! I can't do anything but to comply, comply and comply with all the demands of the big arena of learning. Because of that when I get lazy to study my lessons, I often think of quitting school! But as I am saying that, a lightning of reality would always hit and make me realize that education will be my one and only treasure I can have that will never be stolen! So I should stick to that reality so I'll have the reason to aim higher and develop more my capabilities to be more or have a greater chance to be successful in life.

And so I must start now! I'll be getting my notes now and seriously sit in my bed and inject that knowledge, concepts and ideas into this challenged brain (^_^).

Got My New Haircut

I went home yesterday and saw our barber neighbor and had my hair done. You know a little bit of cutting those excess hairs that cover my ears and those that cover my forehead. I really don't want that uncomfortable feeling of having that kinda long hair.

I usually had skinhead during my grade school days until I went to high school. I've changed the way I look by then and the picture on the left is my favorite and new kind of haircut now. Hehhehe. I think it makes me look younger. I think it makes melook clean and much presentable. I know you don't want to see me on my uncut and curly hair. Bwahahaha! And also, just don't mind my face. OK? Just want to share my new haircut! LOL.

To Miss Philippines 2008

Hi Miss Barrientos, I am congratulating you for being such a beauty and a symbol of a strong and confident Filipina. I am really sad that you didn't make it to the top 15. But regardless of the result, I am really appreciating your great effort in showing to the world that Filipinas are one of the most beautiful woman in whole universe. I knew that the award isn't for Philippines yet. A new beauty title will come this year...for Philippines...that will come sometime this year! I can feel it!

Addicted to Blogging

When I started blogging last February this year, I really never find it very much exciting and worthy of my time. I did not get serious in making posts and even forget to update this blog. I don't know maybe I have just other things which I think need much of my time and attention.

But as months gone by, I started to visit other blogs and somehow appreciate their post most especially the blog designs. I am really having fun of making my own website but I am just so lazy that I have to delete that site in one of he free-web hosting over the Internet because laziness caught me.

As what I was saying, I started to appreciate other blogs aside form mine. I started reading their posts and observe other stuffs they put in their blogs. Surprisingly, I often found "Blogroll" sections on the other blogs and I was then curious about it. I started exploring it and amazed how blogs and bloggers are connected with each other through this thing called "Blogroll." Since I don't want to be left behind, I started creating my "Blogroll." I visited sites and blogs and ask for the so-called "exlinks" to those blogs that I thought would be great if added in my "Blogroll." I was never disappointed with the result. Then on I realized that almost all of the bloggers here in blogosphere are so friendly and very much hospitable. I discover new friendship. I meet people from around the world, I make "kumusta" to my "kababayan" abroad and was able to share my simple thoughts regarding the things that affect our daily lives dramatically.

For the five months of inactive and active blogging, I can say that at this very moment, I AM REALLY ADDICTED TO BLOGGING.

Hot..Hot..Hot!

Wohoo! I can really feel the sun breathing all over my nerves now! I am really wondering why this big yellow-orange thing is always angry with me. Hahaha! I guess summer has ended...or am I wrong?

I really don't know. My sweat are really dripping and I think I have to take my second shower now.

Ruby Year of My University

Us at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology are currently celebrating our 4oth year of excellence and success. Lots of meaningful activities were held including the motorcade that happened a while ago! It was really fun. Together with my classmates and schoolmates, we enjoyed that motorcade around the clean city of Iligan (Hahaha..clean?).

Anyway, can't post the pictures here for now. I promise to post our pictures later in another post so you can all see it well.

Ok! Take care!

Love the Morning Air

It's 3:50 A.M. in my time and i am already awake to do some finishing tasks on different matters even though I can feel that these kinky eyes are still sleepy. (^_^)

What's good about today is that, I can feel the morning air gently kissing my neck and thus make me have goosebumps that is surely outrageous! I may be exaggerating now, but it's true. I love the quiet frame of time especially at this time of the day when you are the only one awake. I can think clearly as if I don't have other problems in mind.

So...Good Morning from Philippines!

Thank God!

(*Heavenly Chorus*)

Hahahaha!

I was really irritated still from last night after I did some experiment configuring and editing this blog's template and only to know that because of that, I lost my banner.

Hahay, thank God after almost 15 hours of wondering and blaming no one but me, myself and I, I successfully returned this blog's usual setting. And I was really REALLY really happy about that.

Popular Baby Names Changed

The top 10 baby names from 1950 look nothing like today. Here's the list from 1950, according to the U.S. Social Security Administration:

Most popular boy/girl baby names in 1950:

1. James / Linda
2. Robert / Mary
3. John / Patricia
4. Michael / Barbara
5. David / Susan
6. William / Nancy
7. Richard / Deborah
8. Thomas / Sandra
9. Charles / Carol
10. Gary / Kathleen

Here's the list from last year:

1. Jacob / Emily
2. Michael / Isabella
3. Ethan / Emma
4. Joshua / Ava
5. Daniel / Madison
6. Christopher / Sophia
7. Anthony / Olivia
8. William / Abigail
9. Matthew / Hannah
10. Andrew / Elizabeth

The name Mary still stays at No. 1 baby girl name from the 1880s through the 1950s, while John was one of the top five boy names during that same period.

You? What's your name? Is it in there? If not, don't worry. It just implies that you have unique and one-of-a-kind name! Right, Crooky? LOL.

Playing With The Camera

It was a boring afternoon yesterday in my school. Although we have lots of things to work on such as our thesis and all, we still felt that we are not busy at all. Anyway, Bonjing, a good friend of mine, borrowed a camera from his cousin and we start playing with it! Here are some of our photos.

(Of course I'll just post the photos that has my face on it!) Thanks Bonj for giving me a copy of these.

Dangers of Barefoot Lifestyle

Walking barefooted is one of the most exciting ways to enjoy summer. Without any hassle on your feet, you will sure have a great time running on beaches. But did you know that some people who are taking their shoes, sandals and socks suffer injuries such as cuts and puncture wounds. The worst thing is, some cases of these injuries develop infections that require surgery.

So if you are one of those people who finds a happy world barefooted, please keep in mind
these safety tips from the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons:

  • Make sure you're vaccinated against tetanus. Teens and adults should get booster shots every 10 years.
  • Apply sunscreen to the tops and bottoms of your feet to protect them from sunburn. Rare, but deadly, skin cancers can develop on the feet.
  • Wear flip-flops or sandals around swimming pools, locker rooms and beaches. They'll help protect against cuts and abrasions from rough anti-slip surfaces and sharp objects hidden in beach sand, and prevent contact with viruses and bacteria that can cause athlete's foot, plantar warts and other foot problems.
  • Use common sense. Every year, people lose toes while mowing the lawn barefoot and others suffer serious burns from accidentally stepping on stray campfire coals or fireworks. Remember that murky rivers, lakes and ponds can conceal sharp objects underwater.
  • People with diabetes should never go barefoot, even indoors, because they may not "feel" a foot injury.
  • If you suffer a puncture wound in your foot, see a doctor within 24 hours. A puncture wound must be cleaned properly and monitored throughout the healing process to avoid complications such as tissue and bone infections or damage to tendons or muscles in the foot.
  • Inspect your feet on a routine basis for skin problems such as warts, calluses, ingrown toenails, suspicious moles, spots or freckles. The sooner a condition is detected, the easier it is to treat.
Let's not risk our own self without thinking of our safety and just enjoying what we enjoying. We must also consider the awful things we might experience due to our carelessness. On the other hand, we must not also limit ourselves to things we know we can do! Think of precautions but make sure to push yourself to the highest and do the right thing.

Be safe always!

My Scrollable Blogroll

It's been several days already that I am thirsty to know how to make a scrollable blogroll. I've tried so many tags and lines of codes from my basic knowledge in HTML and CSS yet I really can't do it right. I am an IT student but I admit I am not perfect, just like you! :)

Moving on, I had also consulted my HTML/CSS/Programming Genius friend, Lemuel, regarding this simple problem. He did gave me some simple and very good advice and line of codes in order for my blog to look even better. I did somehow understand what he told me.

In addition to that, while I was browsing my own blog checking for new comments, I landed into my visitor, now my friend's blog after viewing the comment she made in one of my posts. And so I browsed her blog.

Luckily..tadah! In her blog, I found her article entitled Make A Blogroll With A Scrollbar. At that very moment I felt that it was the time for me to know how to make such thing. Weeii..

I understood what was written there and successfully made my own SCROLLABLE BLOGROLL! Lol.

Thank you so much Lemuel and Jojo for teaching me.

The End.. Hahahaha!

P.S.
Just check out that blogroll in the right side of this blog.
If you want to be added there, let me know!
Cheers!

My Sister's Thesis

It's been an issue now in our family that my sister's thesis involves traveling somewhere in a place we consider unsafe. All the members of my family is arguing for how many days already because all of us care about her safety.

Personally, I don't know if they have already changed their location of study but I am just hoping that together with her colleagues, they can realize that it's not easy to be away especially to an unsure place.

I know my sister is intelligent enough to make the right decision. *wink*

I'll just pray for them.

The Internet Connection

For several days already, I am really annoyed and irritated of the interuption of my Internet connection. I don't know what's happening but for almost a month now, everytime the internet connection is gone, I must really have to restart the modemn and wait for about 2minutes to have it again.

Sometimes, whenever I have to download something, I am really freakin' busted everytime the connection is gone coz that's the real and primary reason that I can't complete downloading.

Yeah..yah. I already called my Internet Service Provider (ISP) and told them the situation. They just told me that they will do what they can do. Urgh....I am really pissed off!

I'll just have to wait what they can do and call them VERY MUCH OFTEN forthem to realize they're giving me an unconvincing service!

My Rainy Days

I definitely and absolutely convinced and accept the reality now that summer is over. Those hot and free days were over and I welcome with my life the season called Rainy Days.

It was yesterday when the rain was so heavy and together with my friends, we were just looking at it in one building of our university. I can still remember when I said "kusogkusog ulan", meaning, "rain please pour harder and heavier." I muttered that words for one simple reason, I don't want our professor to hold a class considering that during that time also there was a complete current block-out in our school, and in that case, our teacher wont be able to hold our class.

And so the rain poured hard and the electric supply hasn't returned yet even after our scheduled time of class 6:00 P.M. I and also my classmates went home with a very big smiling face! Weeii..

Now FYI, as I am writing every single letter of this post, I can hear that pouring sound of a heavy rain in our roof. Yes, today is another rainy day. I don't know if I'll be happy because it's a best time to relax and sleep or should I be sad knowing that.....WAIT...

OUR KITCHEN IS FLOODED! NOoooo!

I'll just publish this now and find a way to somehow stop the cascading water that is almost entering our living room now!

My Pig

It started when I visit Flipt's blog and saw a drawing of a pig. Out of curiosity, I clicked the link he provided there..and..uhm I think it was pig-drawing personality test. I drew my own pig and here it is.

Yah..yah! I know that picture sucks! LOL! I never really learned to draw even before, so just bare with that! :)

I'll just keep the interpretation of my PIG private. :P

Have A Great Weekend

The looooong working days are OVER! Forget all the office works. Forget all the school assignments. Forget all you debts. Forget all your mistress. Forget all your worries. Forget all the things that is making you to be stressed.

Weekend is here and we must all be thankful to these wonderful days in the calendar. The days when we can share our sandwiches with your children and family in a picnic, The amazing days of fun and excitement playing video games with your brother or sister. The days of adventure with your peers and friends in a movie house or in a party. The time to travel in a neighboring town where you can chill and meet new unique people just like you!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

P.S.
DON'T FORGET YOUR DEADLINES ON MONDAY! *wink*

Tired - PERIOD!

I can still remember summer when I was sooooo excited to go to school again to mingle again with my peers and to experience more the sweat-dripping challenge that my professors will give. It was those summer days when sometimes I get so bored because I'm not at school.

And now, it has all changed! I'm in school now. Mingling with my closest peers and laughing with them. Sharing every joke we have in mind. Haaaaayyyy..and the worst is..AGAIN, we are facing the new challenges OUR professors are burdening us. OOOOhhhhwww no! Let me just share to you what keeps me so stressed out this days!

:(

1. Our MSU-IIT Museum Inventory, Forecasting and Inventory System, the one we are making, is still NOT DONE! And now, I still have an INCOMPLETE rating for that one majot subject, CSC182.

2. The fact that I must overload my Subject Units next semester in order for me to reach my parents expectation - TO GRADUATE!

3. I am now afraid AGAIN, that...I can't finish our Thesis for this semester, The Course Shifting System. But i'll just hope for the best! :)

4. Etcetera!

All that stuff and "other" stuffs make me soooooooo TIRED!

My Mom and Dad's 22nd Year Anniversary!

I arrived home late today and noticed a different aura in our house. While I was changing my clothes and checking my e-mail, my sister called me for our dinner. Surprisingly, I was very much amazed in the scene I found in our dining table! It has fruit salad, "adobong baboy" and etc.

Out of curiosity, I asked my sister what's the occasion. My sister wasn't answering because her mouth was filled with goodies my mother served and so my younger brother answered me. "Anniversary!", he said.
OOOWwwwhhh..(that was a big one!). And so I ask my mother what's the day today but she just answered me with a smile so I looked at our calendar and realize it was, June 18! I gave my mother a sweet smile and a soft greeting and she again replied me with a smile!

While eating, I teased my mother for being one of the very common "June's Bride!" LOL! My other siblings laughed about that too! :) Moving on, I also asked my mother how long have they've been together before marriage. And she whispered, "six years!". Wow! That was tough I thought! My father was indeed very patient, faithful and "honest." So all in all I thought, they were together for 26 years now! Wooh, that was long and I am just happy about it.

The dinner ended with me wishing they can still celebrate their Silver Anniversary or perhaps even better if they can go all the way to GOLD!

...Wait, I forgot to mention about my father, where is he? LOL, he wasn't there when we had our dinner! He was with my other sister and they went to my cousin's house to welcome her home from abroad. But it wasn't a big deal for us. They did arrive not too late to celebrate my MOM and DAD's 22nd year together as a couple!
