14 Hours to 2009!

Later at midnight, we'll be welcoming the year of the ox, 2009! Another fruitful year will come to an end and another one will come hoping it would bring more peace and blessings for everybody.

Welcoming a new year is an amazing feeling. I think having to experience this kind of celebration is a true blessing from our Lord God and a symbol that until now, He still lets us experience and face another year. Our God is truly amazing isn't it?

Later this evening, my family will be gathered again in our dining table to give thanks for all the blessings that we received this 2008. This great year will be very much memorable to me as on this year, is the year that I started blogging and truly, blogging made some difference in my life.

Our University's 40th Year

The formal opening of our Charter Day celebration of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology last week started with a flag raising ceremony that was attended by the leaders of the school and the respective deans of each colleges. Of course, the deans of each of the college proudly raised their respective banners or flags.

An exciting motorcade then followed bringing the energetic students and faculties to the streets of Iligan riding on their own float and cars. The whole city was blanketed by RED colors since almost all of the participants wore something red. The motorcade lasted for almost 30 to 45 minutes. It was so hot but still all participants were gleefully waving their smiles to the people they saw on streets. Of course I also joined the motorcade. LOL.

Proudly saying, our Executive Council did really a great job for making our very unique SCS WOLVES Float! I mean, this is the first and the only year so far that our college/school has its own big float. Take a look at our cute wolf.

Very nice isn't it? At first I really wondered and was confused if that was a WOLF or a MOUSE. But as I look at it a little longer, I have already totally convinved myself that it is really a Wolf! Bahahaha!

And so moving on, after the motorcade, different competitions and special events happened on that day. Also, prior to that day, there were already games and other activities done. Meaning, our charter day celebration is really a WEEK full of excitement and of course HOLIDAYS! Hahaha.

As I was saying after the motorcade, my friends brought out their cameras and CLICK..CLICK..CLICK! Take a look at the mighty students of MSU-IIT under the banner of the great WOLF of the School of Computer Studies (SCS).

My Mom and Dad's 22nd Year Anniversary!

I arrived home late today and noticed a different aura in our house. While I was changing my clothes and checking my e-mail, my sister called me for our dinner. Surprisingly, I was very much amazed in the scene I found in our dining table! It has fruit salad, "adobong baboy" and etc.

Out of curiosity, I asked my sister what's the occasion. My sister wasn't answering because her mouth was filled with goodies my mother served and so my younger brother answered me. "Anniversary!", he said.

OOOWwwwhhh..(that was a big one!). And so I ask my mother what's the day today but she just answered me with a smile so I looked at our calendar and realize it was, June 18! I gave my mother a sweet smile and a soft greeting and she again replied me with a smile!

While eating, I teased my mother for being one of the very common "June's Bride!" LOL! My other siblings laughed about that too! :) Moving on, I also asked my mother how long have they've been together before marriage. And she whispered, "six years!". Wow! That was tough I thought! My father was indeed very patient, faithful and "honest." So all in all I thought, they were together for 26 years now! Wooh, that was long and I am just happy about it.

The dinner ended with me wishing they can still celebrate their Silver Anniversary or perhaps even better if they can go all the way to GOLD!

...Wait, I forgot to mention about my father, where is he? LOL, he wasn't there when we had our dinner! He was with my other sister and they went to my cousin's house to welcome her home from abroad. But it wasn't a big deal for us. They did arrive not too late to celebrate my MOM and DAD's 22nd year together as a couple!

Today is my mother's birthday! Happy birthday mom! Thank you for being there always ready to give a hand when I need to fly! I'll always love you forever and never to leave you until my days are over! I Love you!
